ClASSIC vampire. you are somewhat gothic, keep to yourself, and that's the way you like things. you are traditional and old fassioned. you might not do well with machines. simple is better. You love the fact that you are a vampire and wouldnt trade it for the world. so many advantages! you love to terrify the weaker race of humans silly. you also despice the "cute" vampires. you go with your insticts on everything, keep doing what your good at, the older ways

I'm still here... I think Feb. 14th, 2006 @ 03:12 pm
Yes I think. So much has been happening and not happening.
*looks under the desk for me*

She is free Sep. 5th, 2005 @ 10:05 pm

At about midnight in Florida (6am Norway).

She is free! No longer trapped on earth in her body. She's free!

So much for machines Sep. 5th, 2005 @ 11:59 am

Just an update to what happend yesterday.

I got on the phone with my mom. She sounded a lot better. She said she as happy that she has honored my grandmothers wishes and she is no longer hooked to machines.

So I asked her what happen. She said that once the machines were taken off my grandmother started breathing better then when on it! Go figure, she has always been as strong as a bull.
So her breathing is better and her vital signs are better. My mom says it is now a waiting game. The doctor told her that the body can't live without the mind, so soon her vital signs will start to drop. If not (for some odd reason) my mom will ask for another brain scan to conferm what they already know.

I guess with everything else working perfectly, it is hard to get rid of the hope that the doctors are wrong about the brain damage.

I miss her so much and everyone else in my family. I wish I could just hop on a plane to Florida!

Miricles and acceptance Sep. 4th, 2005 @ 01:55 pm

You must take the good with the bad. That is what I have always been told.

The good the miracle...

My grandfather was diagnosed over 5 years ago with Alzheimer's Disease. It got bad fast. By this year he was in a wheelchair, couldn't read, or talk more than a couple non-understandable words, and he had no memory of me or anyone else he loved.
Then one day my aunt saw something on TV and found out they could be wrong. It took about 3 months and he got checked with a doctor that knew about what else it could be. He was scheduled for surgery and within hours he was becoming his old self. (I am being a bit vague since I don't remember the name and how it all specifically happened)

So I was on the phone yesterday with a man that I never thought I would talk to or remember my name again. My grandfather, in a coherent conversation, told me he loves me!

Acceptance of how life can be...

Threw all this time, the one person that was there and was strong and cared for him and loved him... My grandmother. A month ago got her husband back. (yes it took a month before I got to talk with him again)

Earlier this week he looked at her and she didnt look well. He knew he couldn't take care of himself so he call the police. They came with an ambulance and took her to the emergency room where she ended up having 2 heart attacks. The first was mild, but the 2nd hit her hard.
Now my mother is with them and they have done all they can. They did a brain scan and it shows sever brain damage. She cannot focus, I am told it is like she cannot wake up from sleeping. (I am in Norway and cannot get to the states to be with them)

My grandmother has never shown fear and has always excepted that she would leave us someday. One of her request has always been to let her go when it is her time, meaning no machines.
So yesterday after talking to the doctors, the family was called and a priest. She has been given her last rights and all the family has had a chance to talk to her and say what they would like to her.
I have spoken to my mother and asked her to talk to her for me. To tell her what is in my heart and how I love her.

So today I am making a Pork roast, a dish she taught me and at 4pm (Norway time) I am lighting a candle and celebrating the life she had and that I had the privilage of being a part of it, being her grandaughter.
That is when they will take her off life support.

I love you mi Abuela! always and forever!

I was gonna hang with Mai-Li today. We were gonna goto the mall and look at a Penguin painting. But my little Maya has been sick lately (she's much better now), and my mother-in-law knows I take more care of her then the house during such times. So she had to make a surprise visit and clean.

I am bumbed since I wanted to go out, but I am glad that I dont have to clean the kitchen, bathroom or the library now. :)
» Speaking of Penguins

I never noticed these guys much but I have been lately. See, I always knew they were cute, but I was never obssessed with them.

Now I meet [info]mai_li and she is gaga over penguins.
So the next thing I see is this post on them from [info]judecorp . Ok so I never here anything, so no big deal one thing. Then yesterday I am walking threw the mall with my mother-in-law (getting school clothes for Ulie since school starts tomorrow!) and we pass by one store that I always admire the paintings as I go by, and what do I see???

A painting of 3 Penguins!!! Thinking I have to show this to Mai-Li!!!
It is like when you buy a new car, all of a sudden everyone has that car.

Mai-Li, we have to go to Oasen! I have to show you this painting I saw!

» I haven't been blogging

I have stopped doing that for a while.
It is not that I am board of it, it is more that I have had other things occupying my time. Like WoW. I thought that after a while my attention to that game would diminish, but it hasn't. But I was brought into reality for a little bit... I found a friend!!!

[info]mai_li She is great! And she is my boat. She lives over the bridge from me and moved to Norway for love. (Isnt that just romantic?) And now.. I got her hooked on WoW. So when we can't hang out in person we hang out daily in game.

Life can be good.  :)

» Still here

I am here, I am alive, just busy.

Dealing with red tape from the US.

Yes, we went to Oslo to renew my sons passport and they wouldnt.
I knew his father had to be there when he got the passport, but I didn't know he had to be there to renew it. So there is this form that he has to get noterized and send to me that says he is aware and can have a passport. @@

Yet that isn't the most stupid part. The stupid part is what the lady at the Embassy said.
She asked if I had sole custody and I told her no. Then she told me she need a noterized form from his father saying he can be in Norway.. Uh DUH, the boy is ALREADY in Norway. We wanted to renew the passport to get back to the US.
I pointed out he was there when we got the passports and going to Norway was the reason. I also showed her his resident permit. The Norwegian government needed specific permission from his father that he KNEW he would be living in Norway. So we had done that but the paper was put on file with the Norwegian immigration.

So here we are back in town waiting for my Ex to send yet another noterized form that states our son can leave the US so that we can get his passport to get him back in the US. HAHAHAHAHAHA

» Twas a good day

First we went to get my hair cut, (not to sure if I like it yet). Dropped the kids off at the in-laws, then after had a bite to eat. Took a nice 2 hour walk past the beach and had a slushy (yes, they have slushy's here, just a different name).

Came home, relaxed and played WoW while dh painted some minitures. He hasn't been in the mood too for ages. Actually he hasn't been in the mood for anythng in ages. It was great to see him painting again. It is one of his favorite hobbies, it is great to see him enjoy his work!  :)

Life has been a bit hectic partly since dh is home from work on a medical leave. So I have had to take care of him on top of everything else I normally do. So please excuse the lack of posts.
It seems I may never get a pattern of consistant posts the way my life has been the past few years.

But oh well, I am to happy about today to worry about tomorrow.

Have a great one all!

What MUSICAL are you???
created with QuizFarm.com

» We went out (wow)

Yea thats right. Tonight we went to the local theater (Festiviteten) and saw a show.

Since I love musicals it was perfect. One of Norways famous musical theater singer. Jan Werner Danielsen, he was fabulous! He started off with Phantom of the Opera and did it in such a new way. He did several songs from the show telling the story along the way. Of course the songs (or most of them) were in English, but the story telling was in Norwegian. So I was a little lost there, but it was still great. After Phantom he did Chicago, Les Mis, Sound of Music and finished with Miss Saigon.

Fantastic evening.

Screw all that namby-pamby chick stuff, you're going straight for the bottle and a shot glass! It'll take more than a few shots of Wild Turkey or 99 Bananas before you start seeing pink elephants. You know how to handle your alcohol, and yourself at parties.
